Looking for some nice headphones for 90 dollars or so. - Page 3

That's great, but if 99% of people disagree with you, don't try to present your "advice" as fact.

Sony V6 is a nice all purpose headphone and they're a classic. Only 65 on amazon.

Cuad, you listened to them and then returned them? There is a burn in period...

I am a HUGE advocate for AD700s. I use them primarily for sound stage in games that benefit from directional audio like call of duty, or counterstrike. I have had my ad700s for 2 years and I love them. LOVE. LOVE.

Just disregard him...

AD700 would be a huge step up from the crappy 20$ headphones...for that money you can't get better

TBH, I suck at audio.
I just love my $35 Plantronic Gamecom 377.
They work perfectly, they are comfortable and they can go loud and clear.

As I said, I'm near 0 at audio, I've used some cheap sony headset before and the plantronics smokes em.
There is a notch over : the Plantronic Gamecom 777 with virtual 5.1 but really, that's a simple usb addon that simulate the 5.1 so it's not as good as real 5.1 headset.

If I had to choose an headset I would go back to those 377 since they are inexpensive, comfortable and somewhat more than decent IMO.

I own the A700s (closed version of the AD700s) and the HD555s. I didn't catch whether you wanted open or closed headphones. Open allow sound in and out (HD555 and AD700) which gives better sound staging and treble while closed headphones (A700) offer better bass and isolation of sound going in and out while sacrificing a little sound staging. For comfort, the A(D)700 are probably some of the most comfortable headphones you will ever wear but the HD555 aren't bad. You probably wouldn't notice any issues UNLESS you are listening to the 555s and then switch over to the A700s. The HD555s are tighter but snug.

I would recommend the A700s for general use as they isolate sound so if you have noise or need to be quiet, they do well. The trick is finding them at your price range since they usually site just above $100.

edit: found this: http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=ATHA700 I bought mine here but for ~$10 more. Great deal.

This is true. The Audio Technicas are very bulky. The HD555s could work portably but they are still a bit large.
