Finally finished DA:O

Wow. That's all I can say. I've been working on it for about a month now, and I put around 45 hours into my character. My Warden was a Spirit Healer / Arcane Warrior, and I used Alistair, Ohgden, and Zevhen.

Overall, I have to say that it is my favorite RPG to date. I loved how engaging the story was and your character progression seemed just right.

The only thing that I have to say negative about it is the crafting system seemed weak, and basically useless, and there was a lack of "flashy" equipment for some characters, especially Mages. It seemed like there was some really nice equipment from vendors, but with the pricetag, the game really forced you to make some hard choices.

Really great game, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I went arcane warrior as well on my first character, but was less about healing and more about using CC style abilities. It was hella fun.

Nice happy you enjoyed it. It's a good game try and see if you can grab number two on the cheap.

Relating to items. I think that they balanced the cost in such a way that they endorse the "spend all your money on your hero, to hell with your party." To buy some of the really nice stuff and equip your entire party with it is almost outside of the realm of possibility just in terms of available money.

I agree the crafting system was a bit weak, and I think it is something that Bioware hasn't really gotten "right" in any of their recent RPGs.

It just sucks that they want it to be that way. My purchases ended up being The Magister's Staff for my Warden and The Roses Thorn for Zev.

I think I may try another play through, this time with an Archer Rogue. I spent the entire time trying to keep my party alive though, and I have no idea how I'm going to emulate that with the Tactics menu. Going to make it very interesting to see if I can micro-manage a healer.

Yeah, when I played through (and I find this always works best for me in team RPGs), I tank so that basically I can make sure that the tank (me) NEVER dies. I've always had a ton of trouble keeping things going on higher difficulty levels playing anything but the warrior type.

It is actually probably better in DA2, because tanks aren't quite as important.

Well glad to know how long it took you. I just reinstalled after spending an hour looking for my darn booklet with the cd key. So I'll see if I can get into it this time. I have an Archer Rogue Elf but yeah, only made it three hours before. I may actually take a break from the Witcher and try it again this weekend.

I may go through againand make different choices.First time through, I was very kind and courteous. I want to try being ruthless.

I found exploring as much of the dialogue as possible in each scene to be what drew me in. it was like reading an incredible book, and playing out the action sequences.

i played it through 2 and a half times (on xbox though) the first time i decided i wanted to ditch my party and go for a lone wander for a while, then found myself stuck in is it howards? palace or something, the guy that killed your main characters parents. and if went forwared, i got absolutely slaughtered by everyone, and if i went back the whole palace turned on me then i get slaughtered again, i was very gutted but i was enjoying the game so much i started again and i didnt even mind repeating everything again

on the next playthrough i completed it, then i played through it again about a month after. i dont have it anymore, i bought dragon age 2 from the shop and i couldnt even be bothered finishing it, its still there like half way through waiting to be finished but its just freakin borin.

its freaking awesome, it doesnt quite live up to my all time favourite baldurs gate, but its definately the next best thing. and it doesnt make u feel like uve gone back in time 10 years like baldurs gate does when i play it now lol.
