Putting my 6970 under water. But I have Questions.

Thread Starter
Im goingto get the rasa 750 240 kit and the ek 6970 water block. Would the kit be able to cool both my cpu and gpu? At stock and both overclocked? Also do you think the 320 could fit in my case or would I have to have it outside. I will be sing Thermaltake Tg-1 As TIM becasue I have a 2 pack of it. Any suggestions or ideas to get the most out of this setup. My case is obviously a cm690 II adv. If i cant fit the 360 should i be running Push/Pull on the 240? Also going to use Feser UV Clear / Blue as my coolant. I'm ordering tomorrow please help.

You should probably post this in the water cooling area. I'm sure the guys there can help you out. From the limited research I've done into water cooling, I think that the 240 kit will not cut it for you. Between your overclock on the cpu and the heat the 6970 generates, I don't think the 240 is enough, push/pull or not. The 360 kit may work, but I'd just be guessing. Try the water cooling area for some expert advice.

The ek 6970 block is not the best. The cheaper xspc and heatkiller beat it.

a 360 would be ideal, but if you can't fit one, another Rx240 or the slimmer RS240 will be fine. btw, I would not recommend EK nickel blocks, stick with copper, or another manufacturer.

Stay away from dyed coolant. It will gunk the blocks.

I am using RX360 kit. Cooling two GPUs and one CPU with fans in push configuration only. Good temps to boot. So, need for more than one RX360 just to cool a GPU and CPU.

A push pull on a 240 could cool it. Radiator recommendations on this sight are always as inflated as PSU recommendations. I had a 240 cooling an oc'd i7 920, NB and 4870 with good temps. That being said, the delta would obviously be better with the 360 kit.

Dyed coolant is fine. Feser One does a great job. Other than my current config (water), Feser was all I ever used and it NEVER gunked up even after 9+ months of constant use.
