Can't quite decide on a PSU

Thread Starter
Ok, checked some reviews, read the important things that I know of anyway. I picked out some well known brands. Unless ya think otherwise and I should keep mine, once ya read further in.

I'd like something that will handle 2 GPU's max, since that'll probably be the most I'll ever use. At highest, maybe 2x 480's and lowest being 2x GTX 460's ~non-SE. (Just an example of the max/min power, not necessarily what I'll get) Trying to stick to a budget if possible, but can add if I need to.

Budget being around $80 to $100 max, but as I said workable.

Anyways, so far, these are what I'm looking at ....

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series 650TX 650W

XFX Core Edition PRO 650W

Antec TruePower New TP-650 650W

PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 650W

SILVERSTONE Strider Essential series 700W

SeaSonic M12II Bronze 620W

Or maybe recommend others in the same price range.

This is what I have now -- Antec Earthwatts EA-500 500w (About 4yrs old now)

two 480s will want a quality 850.

I like the Corsair tx850v2 or the equiv. Seasonic version of the same PS

2 gpu's? I suggest a little more power to be comfortable, say 700w.

If running a tight setup, the Corsair or the Seasonic will do.

Antec TP 650w or 750, Corsair 650TX are both good units.
For 2x 480s I would say maybe just a little more head room and go 750w.

I like the Seasonic the best.

Shameless self advertising here: I have a TX750 for sale, about the same price range you are looking in. (see sig)

two 480s require two 6-pn and two 8-pin. For this, a quality 750-850w unit will do yo fine.

I'd keep what you've got unless you feel you have to go SLI because you can buy one very good card over the two in SLI and a PSU to go with them which should either allow you to save money or get a better graphics solution for the same cost.

900 watts is complete and total overkill for his build.
