Should I buy Minecraft? - Page 2

Thread Starter
Okay i'm seriously considering buying it. But wait, if it says future updates for free if you buy it now, then if I buy it when it's out of beta, does that mean all future updates will be paid for?

I might even buy it tonight. Dunno. As a treat to myself for my birthday?

I heard good reviews about the game but because of the graphics and all sort of things i did not like the game pretty much. Watching Gameplays on youtube made yes sure not to buy this game. May be you will like it.

You won't buy it.
Definitely buy it if you want a great sandbox experience. The graphics of this game don't even matter once you really start enjoying it.

I personally just love to build anything I imagine, at the moment I'm doing a Mayan town sort of thing with hidden treasure, traps, caves, secret tunnels etc.

Definitely worth it

you've got to buy the game for many reasons, first you're supporting a good small firm, notch the programmer of the game said on his blog that when he was at E3 he tried to get a bit of work done on minecraft backstage, don't think you'd find EA doing that!

Second you have to try the multiplayer, if you find a lagless server (one good for your region) then it becomes addictive, plus many servers use bukkit to allow economy, questing and many other things that aren't in the game to start off with.

Thirdly if you're worried about graphics or something (I think this is silly, I like game designers to focus on gameplay) you can download the HD patcher and install 256*256 HD textures that can be downloaded on all the minecraft forums, they improve the graphics quite a bit.

So all in all, buy it

If you've already got it then you know how much of an addictive game it is, it's just down to the money. We waste more money on things that are less fun.

I paid less than that for mine but I'd happily pay that for it. Bit the bullet.

The graphics give it nostalgia. The gave is very addicting, so be careful, you may never sleep again. Your wife may devoice you and you might loose your job.

But its sure work the $20, the multiplayer is alot of fun if you find a good server.

my minecraft server is current reconstructing ctf_2fort from tf2!

Its 100% worth it, I even bet my bud Chris 20 bucks tht he would like it if he got it. Told em id give him 20 bucks, and then 20 more for the account. Long story short, I know where to find him any time of the night now.
