Linux wont install

Thread Starter
I downloaded Linux on to a disk and put it in my new build i am on it right now i want to install it so i can use my computer without using the disk. When i go to install it it says i don't have enough space, it says i need 4.6 gigs available drive space, my computer has a 1TB hard drive and a 80GB hard drive so I have plenty enough space but it wont let me install. Any help is very appreciated.

Are you just running the live CD? The live CD will boot up and then you have to install it. You also have to partition your hard drives. Ubuntu has a nice partitioning program where you can simply drag the amount of disk space you want to use for your hard drive.

When you turn off your computer you clear the DRAM which had your "LIVE CD" loaded to it. Of course it wont work. As for installing UBUNTU try using you keyboards arrow keys at the first menu and not choosing the "LIVE CD" option but instead just "Install now".

You'll be choosing the second option: "Install Ubuntu"
