I'm probably the only one that didn't have difficulties installing my 1366 chip...it really didn't take that much effort to put in, yet I know it was locked in because the latch was secure.

man... The first time I had to put my i7 to the socket I thought I crushed something...

If Artic Silver use this guide.

If you are using the stock cooler, it should already have paste pre- applied and you can just stick it on. If you're using stock cooling and want to use other compound don't forget to remove whatever compound is on the cooler already.

and since the 2500K is quad-core, it's better /not/ to use the "grain of rice" method and instead do a horizontal line?

I would faint right now if I dropped my cpu on the ground!!! These things really aren't as fragile as we make them out to be but you're talking about a significant investment at $300....

Yup it's fine, the same thing happened with me I thought I was squishing all the pins because I heard a crunching noise but it's perfectly fine.
