Budget build for a friend. Any way I can trim this up a bit?

total is 757 without shipping. he needs the works, all the parts and a monitor/keyboard.

very limited budget, wondering if i can go cheaper without sacrificing performance or stability. The board needs proper vrm cooling if you're going to suggest another.

Thanks

I understand its a limited budget build(All my PC builds are budget build because I'm pretty poor) but.. Your cpu isn't great. why not get something that will actually stay afloat longer with modern games with a little overclock with the cpu/mobo combo. its $15 more then what you have with This Graphics card with free shipping(I personally would not a gpu from gigabyte.) Save $15 with my psu and ram suggestions. So if you were going to get what you had listed why not for the same amount get the most and best you can?

Edit: Could save $20 with This monitor.

Hmm I can't even find that processor you have on newegg.com? are you in US?(I know your location says Chicago) But your paying $6 shipping for that keyboard, and $9 shipping for that monitor. New egg has plenty of free shipping items I would take advantage of them.

You're not really one to talk about buying processors for longevity while owning a hexacore that will be EOL by the end of 2011.. lol

You realize a decent dual core runs games as well as a quad/hex right? A 925 x4 oc'd a bit to get rid of any bottleneck would perform the same in games as your hexacore, so I see no point in buying anything more than a 925.

and yeah the keyboard/monitor were just placeholders I was going to replace with better deals as I found them. that monitor you posted is a good deal though, thanks.

Well I'm just trying to help you out. It wasn't until 2 years ago where I was still playing games with my Pentium4 3.4ghz(Stock) but I was lucky enough to have a friend give me her e8400 when she upgraded. Now I have 1090t and won't need to upgrade for a long time. I'm not one that upgrades my computer constantly to the latest, fastest thing out. Just suggesting buying a cpu with higher clock and that will overclock even easier and better then your non black edition. So I don't know why you keep sticking to that 925(not even on newegg, so iam really confused) when your asking for cheaper overall build and the max performance and I'm giving you just exactly that but with better performance?

I don't find that power supply very worthy of a $70 price tag.

Aside from taking the advice of other users (i.e. on the RAM), I recommend:
-Swapping to this power supply/case combo (despite the brand the PSU is a great unit actually, ask any PSU expert on this site and he/she will recommend; better for price, esp. with the combo deal) (case is similar model, just better priced right now)
Save and get the Samsung F3 1TB on Superbiiz ($54 shipped, see link)

I also recommend: AM3+ mobo for nearly the same price!

I had already made some revisions but I will take these as well as the other poster's in to consideration, thanks
