Eyefinity 2560x1600 and two 1600x1200 in portrait

Hello OCN.

Since I just bought a 2560x1600 30" monitor, would it then be possible for me to turn two 1600x1200 monitors into portrait view and run eyefinity?

I heard that if your 3 monitors are not the exact same resoulution, you cannot run eyefinity properly.

Is this true?

I currently have a 3007WFP-HC and would be buying two(or possibly four) Dell 2001FP monitors to run in eyefinity.

I am optimally looking at a setup of my Dell 3007WFP-HC and 2 portrait style monitors on each side.

Thanks!

PS: Graphics horsepower wouldn't matter as if I end up going into eyefinity i'll be using three 6970s.

You can run that setup in eyefinity, but each monitor will need to be running the same resolution. So in your case, the max resolution you could run per monitor would be 1600x1200 due to the smaller monitors max res.

I currently have that setup PLP with 2x 2007FP's (Which I am going to be selling soon) and one U3011. Unfortunately neither AMD or Nvidia supports PLP multimonitor gaming at this time.

Aw. I was totally hoping for some crazy monitor setup without blowing 2100 on used 3007WFP-HCs. (Since I had to buy a used one in the first place. =/)

Thanks for all your help.

If anyone else has any other good info please post it for me!
