No doubt in that, but you gotta have those peoe buy new computers?

Will be no easy task. Average person buy new mid-low range computers like every 5 years or so. At least not an automatic solution the way I see it.

Ahhhh that was such a headache. Because of that I stopped playing the PC version for a week until it got fixed. Rocked out the 360 version with some buddies until the PC version got fixed.

It seems to me that PC dedicated games are looked down upon by developers nowadays since there is a much smaller population of us. I still enjoy console gaming, but its not nearly as immersive to me. Most big name companies will not want to make a PC only game simply because it costs more money for less profit. Very few companies have stayed true to the PC (Blizzard for example...except for Diablo for the PS1 and Starcraft for the N64, they were a little bi-curious at the time). But since they pump out quality games, they are one of the most recognized companies in the world.

If only developers and publishers cared more about quality and customer satisfaction, they would make more money in the long run. I know it takes a lot of hard work to make a video game, but I think companies would benefit in the long run by no longer making ports. If we had dedicated console exclusives, developers could consentrate on their one platform (save sports games, they are all kinda "meh" anyways lol). Imagine how much better quality the CoD and BF franchise would be.

Franchises like Killzone, Gears of War, Mario Bros, God of War, Halo, Uncharted, Diablo, Everquest, Zelda, etc are all massive hits. And they are all exclusive to their platform. If someone wants to play a game exclusive to a console, they will buy it, plain and simple. If they don't have the money, they will save for it and then buy it (I did lol).

Sure but that doesnt mean it will be 5 years this year several million people will buy a new pc and unlike a pc bought 6 months before it will thanks to the integrated gpu be able to run modern games.

then all it takes is people realising they can play games on thier pc ^^ ignorance will be the biggest stumbling block imo ^^

A huge problem the pc has had as a gaming machine is that if you want to use one to game you have to know a fair bit or spend allot, whereas a console is cheap and requires no knowledge at all. When everyones family pc can run the latest tittles the complete stangle hold that console have with be lessened and i think we will see a large increase in the number of games developed for the pc wether it will ever truely become the primary focus I dont know but I expect that we will no longer be treated as second rate citizens at least ^^

PC gaming has always existed on all levels. You didn't need a monster system to run great games like Day of the Tentacle or even Doom. Even now, there are hugely popular games that don't even require a dedicated GPU.

It's only when the transition to 3D gaming was made that a system's lifespan for games was dramatically shortened. On the one hand, it's much cheaper to get in on the ground level - my 5770 runs nearly everything on medium/low settings with good FPS. But to keep up, you really need a new card every 1-2 years, and that kind of investment isn't one that most casual gamers are willing to make. When you factor in the costs that upgrades carry as well as the games themselves, it's just much cheaper to be a console gamer.

This is exactly the reason why I avoided PC games for nearly a decade; only Starcraft II brought me back and that's because it was an exclusive. Nearly every game i've wanted to play in the past 10 years has been a console game, and for the cost of a videocard that would only last me 2 years tops, maybe 3 if i'm lucky, I get in on a huge library of games. And that doesn't even begin to cover all the upgrades i'd have to make to make that video card worthwhile.

I think why most PC gamers like being vocal about it is, if they don't then chances are developers will notice it and see it as an excuse to maybe move away from PC games and even stop making games for PC completely.

It's all good just keeping to oneself and playing Games on the PC quitely. But I wouldn't want PC gaming to come to a point where there are no big games coming out on it at all.

I mean sure there will always be Indie games on PC but i'm pretty fond of my Skyrim's and Mass Effect's... It would be a shame if PC gaming came to a point where these games were never seen.

I generally don't see it as a console vs pc scenario, i see it more as an attempt to promote PC gaming so long as you highlight valid points points and not just "PC PWNZORZ". IMO all the PC gaming industry needs is exclusive PC games. I know at least 5 people at my work place that bought/built new gaming rigs just to play Starcraft 2 when it was released. All of them now have Steam accounts

Main reason i hate ports is because they run like crap... Some can be done good... And some can be done fantastic... Like capcom titles, Capcom ports are actually better than the consoles in some cases.

Also when the dev's put the focus on consoles there game ends up being crap and too simple for my liking at least

I find a lot of PC gamers are too picky... Ever since MW2 lost dedicated servers most have demanded every single game to have dedicated servers, As good as it would be it's not needed in every single game, I mean its totally right to complain about COD not having dedicated servers because its a popular game, But complaining that kayne and lynch 2 dont have... I mean please.

This is a load of crap. Duke Nukem Forever, a game PC gamers have been waiting for for over a decade, was leaked onto TPB for xBox 360 and Playstation 3 a week before release. New Vegas was the same way, again, leaked for consoles a week or so before release but not on PC till a few hours after.

Hmm, This is funny if you think about it.... More devs that focus on consoles more piracy on consoles.
