Hi! First post in OCN but definitely not my first time here. Been reading up as many AMD OC guides as I can, the CHIV thread here (into 400 posts, 600+ to go) and checking out help threads of fellow 10XX users.

My rig (built @Dec10) was OCed to 4.0Ghz and those settings failed the 3DMark11 physics tests when I ran them recently. I re-ran IBT@Max and Prime again and to my amazement, both failed! As my settings were mostly plucked-n-play, I decided that it's time I work out my optimum OC settings the proper way.

Dec10 settings: (These were 8hrs prime stable, 20x IBT@Max)
4.0Ghz, 250x16
CPU Offset + 0.0685 (1.396 CPUz)
CPU/NB Offset + xx @ 1.3V
CPU/NU fq 3000
FSB 2000
HTT 250mhz
DRAM 1667 7-8-7-24 1T @1.685
NB 1.2V
Rest @ Auto

I've just threw away three weeks worth of OC settings because I cannot achieve repeatability in most of my settings. I had a setting passed 20x IBT@Max that failed the very next day when I tried to verify. I must be making fundamental mistakes since all my data were going nowhere.

So right now I've decided to try again and to find my optimal OC settings with the help from fellow OCN AMD users. biggrin.gif

Most of the guides suggest to find the base vcore required for 4.0Ghz (with just the multiplier). So I started off with 20x multi for 4.0Ghz, CPU Offset +0.0625, dram 1333 9-9-9-24 2T @ 1.66v and the rest on Auto. Stressed with prime, if core error, bump a notch vcore with Turbo-V, saved and ran prime again. Eventually it was 12 hrs prime stable at +0.0875

Now im trying to find the required vcore for 4.0Ghz with 250 FSB. 16x multi, 250 FSB, CPU Offset +0.0625, dram 1333 9-9-9-24 2T @ 1.66v and the rest on Auto.

Once i get my vcore for 250x16, i will bump NBf to 3000 and find my required CPU/NB voltage. Once i get that stable, i will try to put it my memory settings for 1667Mhz, and try 2000Mhz if possible. I will also try 4.1Ghz if the temps allow for it. smile.gif

Is there anything wrong with the way im proceeding?

Im giving up IBT as it's giving me 62/63 CPU temps even with AC on. Prime seems to be failing me faster than IBT. Either that or my system is fried. biggrin.gif Anyway, is it possible for IBT to pass one time and fail the next? I always test with AC on (well just 25 deg) and monitor my temps when IBT runs.

Any help greatly appreciated!
