[Kotaku] Here, Thirteen Minutes of Modern Warfare 3 Gameplay Footage

Mercifully after the week we've had, this extensive gameplay demonstration of Modern Warfare doesn't need the chit-chat of announcers to kick things off. It's just straight into the gunplay.
Kotaku

Say what you will about infinity ward and the COD series, but it looks fun (kind). Sure, it's contrived as hell and for most of us this will just be a differently skinned game with different rail shooting segments.

So that this doesn't get locked, please no flaming.

Edit: If you're too lazy to click the link, here's a (bad) version of it on Youtube:

I don't mind enjoying a 3-5 hour adventure when the game comes.

then probably back to tf2.

I was gonna say the engine is starting to show its age, but i just remembered their playing it on a console.

It's unsurprisingly another rehash.

There are a few differences I can see, such as:

* Some better textures (or so it looks)
* More particles (but they're still not player based environmental physics)

And then everything else looks the same. Including the bad guys.

BF3 on the other hand looks much more impressive, at least from a preview-versus-preview point of view.

COD = Cinematic gaming (i.e. you don't control jack squat; a rail shooter in it's simplest form aimed at noobs and console players.)

BF3 = gaming at it's essence: pure and what the (pc) community has come to expect from such a series.

Two games catered to two different segments, that is all. It's not our fault activision raped the COD series for consoles. They did what had to be done. I think we should just be thankful that both are coming to PC.

textures seem the same - it's lighting/shadows that have been changed.
