Im betting $70-100 each. They had better have a stellar line of games if I am ever to buy it. That was the wii's biggest issue, lack of good games.
LMAO what?

Try $200-$300 for the controller alone. Decent touch screen + accelerometer + gyroscope + camera. Add a big premium for it being new and lacking of stocks. $100 is what it will cost when it will be discontinued/obsolete. I will be shocked if the whole console costs a cent less than $700. They charged $250 for an overclocked Gamecube; this is supposed to have DECENT hardware (better than the competition), remember?

The 3DS just launched, and it was $250, and obviously Wii U is gonna be more, so I'd say probably around $400-$550

If the controller is $199-$249, then I would say the system is at least $300 as well, assuming it "just" meets the 360/PS3 in GPU power. Or maybe a bit better...but considering the form factor with the typical Nintendo system, this could make sense.

But yeah, this next console is gonna create some sticker shock for people used to Wii prices haha.

This.

I say $500 for the system and $300 for the controller.

from what i understand and have seen, tech spec wise this thing is suppose to be more powerful then the 360 and ps3. Not sure how much better but its suppose to be the next step above them...which was awesome when i heard that but the big issue here is now the price is kind of scaring me....

nintendo seemed to be the "decent system for decent price" kind of like AMD is to Intel. You can get a pretty decent machine for usually a chunk less then the others but now if they are saying its not going to be cheap then i can see this hurting them....why would i spend 500-600 dollars on a nintendo system thats only a step ahead of whats currently out? dont get me wrong i am a die hard nintendo fan and i love the mario, zelda, smash brothers and such titles from them over the years that being the reason i would always buy their new system but i dont think i can shell out 600 dollars....i like the idea of the controller and i really want to get my hands on it to see how much i can do with it...this might stop me though :/

figure the controller support will be added in with a later update so in the beginning it might only support one controller but give it time, it will probably get more. Price on a controller is probably going to be atleast 150-250 dollars if they sell them seperate so i predict the whole system to be around the 500 dollar price....

I seriously doubt that they'll charge as much or more for the controller than they do for their newly released handheld, which not only has the actual hardware that games are played on, but two screens (3" touchscreen and 3.5"), accelerometer, gyroscope, three cameras, etc. all sold at $250 for profit.

If controllers won't be sold separately what happens when you accidentally break your controller?

Depends on the type of screen (if it will be high-end and use, say OLED, I dread to think of what it will cost). And it will definitely cost more, as one large touchscreen costs a lot more than 2 smaller ones (only one of which is a touchscreen). Also for your information, the screens on the 3DS are pretty low res, hence why it's a lot cheaper (main screen is 800x240 and touchscreen is 320x240) than the one in this controller, which is planned to be 720p if I remember correctly. As for cameras, the Wii U will very likely have a better camera (the ones they use on the 3DS are cheap VGAs, which are only used in bargain bin tech like cheap phones/very cheap webcams etc). Oh and this is supposed to have rumble, which will cost a lot as it will be difficult to get working correctly without screwing with the motion sensors.

If the Wii U is released earlier than the other consoles, and has a good lineup of games. I could see it being a success.

$499 to $599 at launch for the complete package and I will not get it. Nintendo is trying to use one device to compete Microsoft,Sony,Apple and Google and my money will not be wasted on their foolish experiment. They already got me with the Virtual Boy.
