Because, after people have shown that a huge corporation like Sony has failed to secure their stuff. It shows that even little companies have probably not invested money into securing their information.

So people are going to go after anyone and everyone at this point.

What's the point though? Financial gain? Hacker status? It's isn't cool by any right to sell email addresses, though I know there is a huge market for it.
