Which graphic card solution is recommended? - Page 3

I would get a GTX 580 for the upgrade option and hassle free Nvidia driver support, but I would get one with a good cooler on it. Preferably the new EVGA 580 DS

K first off, you're ignorant as hell. Getting that out of the way:

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php...Story&reid=219

I'm not getting into the amperage required to run it, lets just go by wattage. Total powerload on FURMARK (hint you will never see near that) for system was 473 watts. This is a continuous 650w. throw in a higher clock on both cpu and gpu, and EVEN STILL you're fine.

Its still continuous up to 650w, and can probably be pushed to a 750w, but would lose 80% efficiency.

and most 550w can handle a 580 overclocked. This one just happens to be an exceptional unit.

You could just use an Antec Neo Eco 520, if budget is a concern.

That's why I emphasized for SINGLE CARD Only, but you're correct a good 850w is recommended for a 580 sli.

I would recommend this PSU, i did have a clicking fan on the first model, but i've RMA'd it and it works perfectly now, its also cheaper then the above mentioned and runs at Silver +80 efficiency. It has a sleek black look to be unobtrusive in your case as well!

Cheers,

Ishi

Edit: its also running a single 12v rail with a max load of 72A
