Help Overclocking GTX 570

Thread Starter
I have not overclocked Nv cards before only ATI but ive had a bash

I ran 3D-Mark-11 to see what kind of score i get with different settings, on line the average for my system is about 50XX :

Please comment

Should i up the memory a bit more ? On its own how will it have any effect ?
Is it best to leave the GPU & Shader linked or separate ?

I know the gpu will run at 900mhz because thats the extreme of the factory overclock but the voltage slider was disabled on the Gainward Phantom 570 so that card doesnt have as much headroom as this card (570 GS) which does have the voltage option enabled, im just wundrin how far can i push the voltage within safe parameters ?

My driver is not the latest as this one came with the card so should i clean out the drivers and install the latest or can i update it automatically; what would be the best policy there ?

Cheers

I really would advise against software-side voltage change, if you were to voltmod the card with an aftermarket heatsink I'm sure you would find a much more stable overclock is not far from you! From stock settings, I would try raising the GPU core a bit, cranking the shaders a little more and leave the memory alone.

After some messing around i had a good clean out, ran driver sweeper, uninstalled some dead weight & reinstalled the latest drivers for this card.

Stock settings for this card GTX 570 is GPU 732mhz

Factory settings GPU 800mhz

I left it at factory and ran 3dMk11

After some more overclocking i ran 3dMk11 again

Ive not tried really pushing it yet because im waiting for winter.

Has anyone else got a gainward GS 570 ? Would like to hear from your experiences.
