First AMD build, need help :)

Thread Starter
Tell me what you guys think on what I'm planning to build:

I bought a Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 + AMD 955BE CPU Combo from a user in this forum. Also a Corsair 750W from this forum.

I want to make a build to play future MMOs like Starwars or Guildwars2. Thing is... I'm on a budget.

I'm trying to find someone to sell me a video card for $80, I've seen GTX 260s and 275 also a 4870. Waiting their replies or getting denied due to being new haha.

Does 7 latency ram make a big difference in performance while gaming?

I was looking at
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231278

I'm currently finding deals on the forums so I can get the max bang for my bucks but any insight you guys have shoot away.

PSU might be a bit over kill........ how much budget you got left?

The ram is going to have the least impact on gaming performance. Just make sure u have 4gb of ddr3 and u will be fine. Save money on the ram for the graphics card if u can.

And I agree with this as well. You shouldn't need anything more than a 650. U would probably be fine with a quality 500 watt even

I got the 750 for cheap so it's okay I'm planning to crossfire next year that's why I got it.

I got the 4870 for 70 dollars. I'm on a budget just for a few months. Recently moved out on my own. But right now I'm contemplating on getting a NXZT Gamma and the ram. I don't know if you grind out some more cash and get a NH-D14.

Once I got everything I will definitely post pics.

Moved to AMD general. Build request threads like these don't belong in the build logs section.

CL7 latency RAM can make a difference in gaming, but mostly the difference is seen in more RAM-intensive applications such as video editing. It can add in some 500-600MB/s to bandwidth (as recorded by MaxxMem) to have lowered timings on AMD.

Angel if u plan on corssfiring, spend 20 dollars more and get a 57** series card for now, and save, because ATIs releasing their 7 series in the fall, and by the time u order next year the prices will have dropped a ton. i run 2 5770s in Cfire and i can blast anything, jsut find a good clock tune and your good to go, im skipping over the 6 series right to the 7, gives me time to save, plus i bought these 2 cards in December, and they are still running great.
