Hello all, I've spec'd a gaming PC and was wondering on all of your inputs

Specs:

CM Storm Scout + Coolermaster Silent Pro 700W Modular PSU

Asus P8P67-M R3.0

Intel Core i5 2500K

Palit GeForce GTX 570

Corsair Vengeance 8GB

OCZ 60GB Agility 3

Western Digital 500GB 7200RPM

LG Blu-Ray Drive

Windows 7 Home Premium

LG 21.5" Full HD Monitor

Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000

Xenta Black 2.1 Speakers

Total - £1087.86 inc. Shipping

My Dad's budget for it all is £1200, so we're in the clear on that one. But is everything compatible with each other?

Cheers

Oh, and we're not buying for another month or so, so do you think prices will have gone up or down by then?

well in that case, if the OP wants to SLI in the future, he should choose another board, not very familiar with SB builds, but I'm sure someone else is. The 570 is a great card, can only imagine what they'd be like in SLI

You can get a 500-550W power supply of better quality than the CoolerMaster and still have power left over. I would suggest a Antec Truepower New 550W or Seasonic X 560W or Seasonic S12II 520W. All would suit your need with much better efficiency.

Also, for your hard-drive, make sure your dad understands that he has to install most games on his larger harddrive and that the SSD is just for Windows really. And change the storage harddrive to a Samsung Spinpoint F3 if possible, they have better performance.

The graphics card is entirely your decision, but realize that the 570 is probably a little bit too much power for the price at 1920x1080 unless you absolutely need to have 32x AA for some reason (hint: you don't). If you wanted to save a bit of money, a 6950 2gb or GTX 560ti would do just as well.

Finally, there's no point in getting a 2500K unless you plan on overclocking. You're going to overclock, right? Get a CPU cooler like the Hyper 212+ for a cheap way of pushing your 2500K to around 4.2-4.5. The difference is worth the extra $30.

Oh, and we're not buying for another month or so, so do you think prices will have gone up or down by then?
Would do this:

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912+ (the Scout is good too )
PSU: Never a Cooler Master. Especially the "Silent Pro" or "GX" series. Rather go for these brands: Corsair, XFX, Enermax and Seasonic
Mobo: I can personally recommend the ASRock P67 Extreme4
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K is a solid and great chip
CPU-cooler: CoolIT ECO A.L.C. (Rev. 1.1) or Antec Kühler 620. The 620 is especially a fantastic cooler for the price. Installing both of them is pretty easy, and you'd be 100% completely satisfied with it. Read some reviews if needed
GPU: A GTX 570 is a really good choice But the reference design 2 Gb. HD6950 can be unlocked to a 6970.
RAM: You do only need 4 Gb. for gaming, but if you just want 8Gb. just to have it, then G.Skill RipJawsX 1600Mhz. CL9 are great RAM with sexy looks
SSD: Solid choice
HDD: Why not a 1Tb. Samsung SpinPoint F3? They're cheap and really reliable
Optical drive: Why a Blu-Ray drive? Does he plan on using Blu-Ray discs? I'd personally get a DVD-burner, and then using an actual Blu-Ray player for my flat-screen TV instead.

The rest is great - and more personal anyway

I think the prices will drop. Probably also with AM3+ coming up, and SNB-E, so in a month, you might end up with different components... Maybe even switching to the red side

Hope it helped!

Since the Storm Scout supports it I'd go with an ATX motherboard just because it gives you more room and is usually a bit nicer. Like this mobo for example

I personally wouldn't go Palit but I'm sure some people like them just fine. Don't worry about SLI too much, a 570 will be awesome for one monitor.

Whatever you do . . . don't use the stock Intel heatsink! Pick up an 1155 heatsink but do a little research on it first. The hyper 212+ is a good cheap cooler and will fit in the scout.
