I'll just save the $$ you plan to spend in the game and get new essential components like CPU, GPU, Ram, MoBo and a Monitor .... playing in a 19" is like suffering for todays standards.

If you dont feel like buying new, on the classified section here theres tons of good deals.

Cheers and GL.

9800GTX+ will probably be way to slow, even at low res. The game is DX10 min.

i noticed alot of you saying...

1.) upgrade

2.) it will work

3.) 9800gtx+ are slow and will not run bf3

i have a few things to say. first, admin....what i said was not rude nor disrespectful. calling someone foolish for talking nonsense is justified. he was talking out of his heatsink.

i will NOT be upgrading anything on my system. my low res allows me to crank games up and run them at high fps.

also, my system has yet to find a game that will bring it to its knees. its old, its not great but i dont need a $4k to play video games. id rather put my money into my rm250.

EDIT: new drivers push bc2 to 94fps average, 168 peek 59 min.

Well, that's great and all, but then what was the point of this thread?

My system runs games at ~3x your res, and it didn't cost me anywhere near 4k.

There are plenty of options for reasonable upgrades atm. You don't have to break the bank just to step up from that tiny screen.

But if you're satisfied with that res, I imagine your setup will run most games fine, including BF3.
What DICE has been saying is that if you have similar specs to the consoles you're low spec for BF3. And that if you are able to play BC2 well then you should be able to play BF3 well.

Depending on your resolution I'd say you can't max it but you're definitely going to be able to play it well.

Well, I just reg'd here to give my 2 cents on this:

I hated when people told me before even the beta of BF3 started, that my pc wouldn`t even startup the game...same people didn`t also believe that BC2 is running on all high + 4xAA settings with minimum 55fps to average 89fps, with the above mentioned 197 driver (best 8/9series driver!!!) on dX10.

I have a 9800GTX+ and play BF3 MP at mixed* settings with a res of 1280x960 at minimum 37fps and average 63fps, no fps lags whatsoever, but no AA.
Now I got my hands on a new (old) P5N72-T 780i SLI MoBo to run two of these cards in SLI for more eyecandy and AA at same framerates as of right now.

btw, 1600x900 drops my average fps only to 56 at same mixed* settings... (in regards to the "aaah, eeeek, low res guy" statements)

uhh a 9800GTX+ is a GTS250 so id say excpet with high res that will tax the ram SLI 9800GTX+ should out preform a GTS450 and come closer to a GTX460 768
