Nothing specific yet, seeing that I'm not in an uni yet (just turned 18, have to deal with rest of the high-school/college-prep equivalent and conscription first). Taking a lot of physics, chem, and geo atm but that's just really broad.

haha no problem with the off-topic talk, that'll just help the thread get more views biggrin.gif

But yeah, we flew to Nairobi, spent a few days there checking out Rift Valley (the nearby Hell's gate national park is great btw, nice place for hiking) and some research organisations that we have some contacts with.

After that we drove to Taita hills (area in south-east Kenya) to a research station owned by the University of Helsinki. Spent about a week there, visiting some local schools, Tsavo -east and west national parks etc.

After that we returned to Nairobi, for about 2 days. Our schedule was kind of tight so we didn't really have the time to do everything we wanted but at least we got to make a visit to the biggest (I think) local slum-ish area, Kibera.

Aaaand after that it was back to Finland, 26 hours of airports and planes *shudder*

Could have been a longer trip but even if it was only just shy of 2 weeks the experience was great, would go again in a heartbeat. smile.gif

This is nice!!
I got a question..
How did you mount your res/pump?
I plan on build a pedestal for my HAF 932 and I will be mounting my res/pump with it, but can't figure out what kind of screws to use.

Again this is very nice.. I may ditch my HAF 932 and building something like this!!!!!!!!!
+rep!!

The Rift Valley is an awesome place! We drove across it on our way to a safari park. I can't remember for the life of me what volcano it was that I hiked up, it was one of the blown dormant ones. Spent the whole day hiking the rim of it. Did you get to see Kilimanjaro? Prettiest sights I have ever seen first thing in the morning was the top of the mountain towering over the clouds during the sun rise.

And speaking of the slums did you try the mandazi? Best local food ever! They are like doughnuts but without all the sugar. I had to have some every time I walked by an old lady cooking some. Came in handy too getting to know them, had to ward off some creepy dudes. Don't mess with the paying customers of a local.

Luck you only had 26 hours of airport/flight. My trip started off doomed. First plane from Chicago to London had mechanical troubles and was delayed 4 hours, so of course I missed my flight from London to Nairobi. I spent another 5 hours tracking down my bags, then attempting to re route a flight and find a place to stay for the night, lucky the air line took care of that, free hotel and steak dinner thumbsupsmiley.png, Then I about slept in for my flight to Nairobi doh.gif. First trip I spent 48 hours in an airport or a plane. On my way back.... We lost my aunts cat and almost missed our flight back to London, my baggage wasn't forwarded between airlines in London, so I spent another 6 hours in the airport before my reconnected flight took off for the US. In the end I spent close to 4 days in an airport or on a plane, but I'd do it all again if I could.

I love to travel. It's a shame I don't have the money to do it often. If I win the lottery I'll throw all my stuff in storage and then travel the world for a a few years. A bit cliche, but my dream is to backpack across Europe.

I travel a lot to South Africa and the countries around there. I live in Norway, flight down there is about 15 Hours (first ~2.5 hours to Paris and another 11 Hours from there) Some years ago i ha a problem with my passport. I was allowed to board the plane from Norway and from Paris, but when i was to enter South Africa they would not allow me. I was therefore forces to travel back to Paris again. There i was issued a emergency passport before i could travel back to South Africa. To sum it up:

Oslo -->Paris = 2.5 Hours
Paris --> RSA = 11 Hours,
RSA --> Paris = 11 Hours
Paris --> RSA = 11 Hours.
So that trip alone i spent 35.5 Hours in the air, add in another 2 hours before every departure and you will hit close to 40 hours. That beeing said that was a 5 Weeks trip but still worth it.

Just thought I'd give a small update (without pics this time since I really don't have anything to show frown.gif ).

So yeah I'm still engaged in talks about RMAing my pump, so I guess it'll be a week or two before I'll get the loop up and running again. Damn hardware failures. Well I guess I've been pretty lucky so far, with this being my first real failure like this smile.gif

oh and in the meantime:

I thought I already answered this but I guess I didn't press the submit button or something, sorry about that :/

But yeah. Actually the res is just resting on top of the DVD drive at the moment, it's tight enough for that, and the front panel of the res is actually keeping it from being pushed any more backwards.

I also considered using a similar sled system that I use with my DVD drive and HDDs. Would have needed a custom sled but I simply couldn't be bothered redface.gif
