If you will only be gaming the 2500k is more then enough.

I got the 2500k because it was cheaper to be completely honest.

I don't really need anymore than 4 cores, so there wasn't really a point for me to spend the extra for the 2600k, and at 5Ghz, who can complain?

I picked up the 2600k because I dont game alot but do some photo editing & graphics editing, along with that I have many applications running at the time..
