I have a 990x for multithread, got a 2500k for things that don't need the extra cores & playing with 3d.

2500K. Hyperthreading is sort of a gimmick, and the extra 2mb cache doesn't really do much for gaming/daily use.

I took the i5 2500k cuz its almost as good as the i7 2600k in gaming, and its 100$ less, which u can spend it on something else like a liquid cooler or SSD.

Until now it's about 60%/40% in favor of the 2500K. Not a big surprise.

2600K. I didn't really need the HT, but I still bought it for the heck of it

I kid, I kid...I fold (a little) and do a lot of transcoding/editing so I guess I use the extra threads.....a lot?
