Them: Hello my name is ****. How may I help you today?

Me: Hi, I just got my restocking fee waived on this return but i was wondering if I was entitiled to get my shipping label waived because I have recieved an item that was defective on you part. I am frustrated that I have to pay shipping on an item that appears to have not been tested before being shipped. I have already shipped the product back with the ups label I bought off newegg and was wondering if anything could be done about that?

Them: We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I show that you have purchased the shipping label. Since the item is defective, I have canceled the order for you. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to be posted to your original payment method. I have also issued a pre-paid shipping label for you. You will receive the return shipping label in a separate email within 24 hours from the time the order is invoiced. Please note that UPS return shipping label is only valid for 7 days from the day it is created. It will not work or it will be voided after 7 days from the day it was created.

Me: I have already shipped the item through ups with the label I already bought

Them: In this case, please simply email me at ******* once the RMA is closed and I will issue you a gift card of $ 13.25 to reimburse the return shipping fee.

I think im going to go for an open box regular asus p8p67. Reading all the boot problems with asus boards, the pro model seems to have the most. Also the regular version cost more than the pro open box so maybe that indicates that the pro is more jacked up or something:headscrat?

Thanks for the help people, saved me $30 more dollars that can go to my overclocking fund:thumbsups

I had a choice for my new mb: Retail @ $259 or OpenBox @ $199. I'm so glad I went retail. just too many horror stories and I would rather spend the extra $60 and not have a care or worry. So far its working great, no hassles of missing bits and accessories, especially the i/o plate. Plus, a new item, if its doa, you can push Newegg support for a return label. They were kind enough to do so as long as you ask and push if they are hesitant. I don't think you can get this leverage with open box. just my 2cents.gif

Newegg just repackages them and sells them as is as 'open box'

amiright?

They test them for functionality. Just bought an open box mobo, and had a nice chat with a rep online about it.
In progress.

got four 120s from the top rad (eight in actually) pushing a crap load of air down the mb area.

The revo was an easy choice, ther MIVE or UD7 would have tacked on another +$100. Plus, these are the only ones (p67) that support triple sli/crossfire and have the right spacing for the HK link I ordered for my gpu blocks (a la EK fc-bridge)

Why not order the open box item and RMA it to the manufacture. 3 weeks later your good to go.

RMA does not guarantee you a brand new replacement. Its possible you might get a fixed item or a refurbished one. Its the luck of the draw in some cases.
