Maybe I can get lucky and land a sponsorship for the lanboy.

The Mod of the month contest is not something I would use as a Publicity stunt. If someone is not ready to enter the contest why waste people's time. It takes creditability out of your entry into the contest. I've been told by about 4 people on forums and in PM's if I want to enter Mod of the Month with my phantom I have there backing and support. I'm not gonna enter the case unless I feel it's worthy and that I can honestly have a good shot at winning it. I find it very admirable that this website even has the contest.

Yeah the lanboy is the most hated computer case on the website but you know that only strives me to make it the most craziest and sickest thing ever. So people have no choice but to vote for it when I do enter my Lanboy in for mod of the month. Also I have no jealousy or remorse if someone other then me in the Lanboy Air club takes mod of the month. I actually would be over joyed to see it happen. I come in this thread daily because I love the Lanboy Air case and seeing what members do with it. We all go and do different things with it and that's what fascinates me.

With that said my phantom I'm considering going sponsored on as I've had a few companies take notice, however I can't accept sponsorship if I do decide to go for mod of the month with it.

That's exactly why I think its a bad idea. Also, if you can get sponsors, take it, go casemod contest 2012. Trust me which is better, doing the work because you want to have fun and have funds to do it, or no funds and working towards glory that's rather fleeting? Everyone in that HOF (except me) earned it with ease, now imagine how badass your rig could become with a sponsor. smile.gif

I would not say everyone who earned there place in hall of fame was eazy. I was one of the first people who got a nomination. I was the 5th to get in. Ghostxide sat for months waiting to get in. Heck BrownieApple it was probaly close to a year and he is an original founding member. BWG is the founder of this club and he is not in the Hall of Fame. He was watercooled before anyone ever thought of being watercooled with a lanboy Air. I proudly would Nominate you STT if you where not in it but i've been here and I've seen that hall empty and I've seen everyone who has been put in. Yeah a few cases got in quick but to be honest it was a struggle for many of us to get in.

About sponsorship, I'm gonna go with what feels right. I do think Mod of the month is a great contest for amateur non-sponsored builders. It's helped a few people get some main stream exposure and even get sponsored.

I build my rig for me, if someone else does not like it. Oh well, I do enjoy compliments and peoples feedback however. This is what I do for fun. I want to get a Mod of the month attempt in. It will most likely be this month for Operation Freedom. My build as it sits has been completely fabricated and paid for by me however after this month though, I might work on sponsorship and promoting the companies that might jump on board with either that build or maybe the lanboy air. No joke!

I wanna see you get sponsored honestly, I think that'd be a great experience for you. Its entirely your call though. You certainly have the right attitude, do it for you. Its not about the destination its about the walk taken am I right?

Just so you know also the hall isn't organized, Adamski was first, but I didn't beat ghost in. Also, I didn't say it was easy, but you lot all deserve it theres no doubt about that (I keep forgetting ghost is air cooled too).

Uhm, I need you to upload them not as attachments. Feel free to look at another post's code to see how it was done.

Now if you want to paint chrome/gold I am gonna point you to my friend SoundWorks3D. He painted tons of accents on his computer case and goes into alot of details on how to paint and prep for using that kind of spray paint.

Trust me, it's worth reading threw his build log and he has it nicely indexed for you to find stuff.

You say wrapping was super easy but Bill advised against it. So I'm getting mixed reviews here. Like you, I would just be wrapping the colored frame in the chrome vinyl.

I very little experience painting so I will look into this. I was excited when I saw this chrome vinyl because it would make it so I could avoid painting the frame while giving it the kind of finish I was aiming for.

I very little experience painting so I will look into this. I was excited when I saw this chrome vinyl because it would make it so I could avoid painting the frame while giving it the kind of finish I was aiming for.

To me it was simple, it's all flat surfaces and you don't have any wierd bends. Alot of time with wierd bends you gotta take a heat gun and strech the vinyl out. I did not have to do that one time with the lanboy frame. I used white carbon vinyl. I've never played with the chrome stuff.

Yeah here are the reviews I read on this product:

Not very promising!

Well we'll see now won't we? The thing is I'm an electronics nut (as is evident by a lot of my mods, also I've made a fair share of my own DJ lights) so if the LEDs blow, oh well, got like 3000 more at my fingertips. *shrug*
