I'm gonna be completely honest with you, WOW i did not expect the mesh filters to look good but you pulled it off. I've never seen it done and I honestly thought about it at one time and was afraid. Now you need a build log for us to follow as this is becoming an epic build.

If I could swear on OCN I would. That filter looks like heaven, it's awesome how it dulls the LEDs. You get my vote for the hall of fame!

Few questions: I can barely see the grate. Is the filter over the mesh or behind it? How feasible will it be to clean?

I'd love to know 2 things, which I'm sure will only be shown in time:

How it effects air flow and the convenience of cleaning it.

Ive been very interested in filter-izing the lanboy air, particularly because I have a 20lb rabbit that seems to be shedding every other week... But every filter solution is too inconvenient to un mount and clean or too inconvenient for airflow. My radiator gets crazy amounts of dusty, and nowhere else on the inside of my case.

just thought id post an update. since my last update my hardware has changed a bit, im borowing a friends gigabyte 6850 windforce. I switched my boot drive from a wd 500gb caviar blue to a 120GB SATA3 Mushkin Chronos Delux MX SSD

Just a few days ago switched from the zalman to a hyper 212+. with the 212+ i am able to use the dohp overclock (yeah i know thats probably not right) and it bumped it to 3.7ghz so with temps being around 30 Celsius idle and 57 under a prime95 64-bit load with all the fans at max. room temp is 23 c

Ive also installed and moved two COOLER MASTER SickleFlow 120's to the drive door. the 2 front fans have been switched to exhaust to prevent some of the dust getting in from the furnace vent its close to. When I installed the SSD I couldnt find any more sata power cable so i move the front fans to the top and bottom on the case while moving the 5.5" vents and dvd drive to the middle of the front.

Holy jeebus!!!! I got my antec rebate for my lanboy today!!!!! I believe the temp in Hell was sub 32 degrees!!!!

How long did it take you, I swear mine took half a year and I never expected it.

since dec last year!! I had given up, and BAM! 30 smackers!!!! woot, thats a race fee this season!!

we missed you around here bro, where you been. I'm juggling computer cases as I just finished my Phantom. Next month i'm doing two builds but probaly gonna have to steal parts from another build.

Lanboy is getting redone, and NZXT is sponsoring a Phantom 410 case for a theme build i'm doing.

Awesome, thanks for the support guys! This is my first attempts at modding (computer stuff at least, tinkerer by birth). I just really love this case as its so mod-friendly.

As for the mesh questions, yes the mesh is on the outside of the grilles. So far early testing is yet to conclude how much temp rise I'll get, not OC'd yet so I don't expect it to be a major issue yet, but with hopes of 4.0+ I may need to revise my design. I have 2 alternates-- I found some lighter fabric that might be more breathable, not sure how the transparency will be though. Or I might make a venting-hinge system to crack the doors out if I want to play with a heavy OC session. Although my biggest concern is, as a warning, these grilles are obviously not intended to be removed and reinstalled very many times as the tabs start to fatigue after a few installs (had one break already, and I wasn't abusive). So I will probably try to stick it out with these unless it really becomes an issue. Absolute last resort would be to replace the grilles entirely with an open plexi frame covered in the light mesh, but thats alot of work that I would rather put into something else.

Dustwise? Well I expect that it would blow out with an aircan just fine from the backside. I expect that this type of system will require somewhat regular maintenance as many of you guys do already, mesh may help? We'll see.

EJ, never done a buildlog before, might need some pointers on getting that going.
