[Official] Antec Lanboy Air Case Club - Page 251

Ok so I just took a trip out to lowes and am going to build a rig that will hopefully make this work and look professional... I did do a test with my Drexel bits though... From left to right: carving head, don't mind the w lol, grinding stone, carving head followed by 220 grit sandpaper, and nail polish remover (does literally nothing)
Also I tested out a little idea that I got from (fluster cluck?) while checking out his rig on page 1... This is not final and it will probably not stay if I can get the plexiglass engraving to work...

OP updated.

All 4 desktops/servers in my home are on the bench atm, only my laptop is at full function.

LEGION: New motherboard, USB card, and thermal paste, and general cleaning.

MICHELLE: Custom OCN Applique, doubled up ram capacity, some other software side things.

BASTION: Using the old sampson parts, just some R&R, PM, etc. (Repairs and Rescues, Preventive Maintenance.)

SAMPSON: Officially Rev 2, built from entirely spare parts again, this rig will serve as a home NAS, another on the go gaming rig, and a Light controller when used with Michelle or Legion for my DJing performances. a 32 channel lite is also in the prototyping stages atm. There will be work logs.

Oh yes, 1 more.

Cheshire Design Principles Prototype: A small scale test is being conducted while our software guys get their heads outta their asses and pick hardware and stick to it. The improvised case will be made of welded steel, springs, and welded aluminum. It will contain eggs (more fragile than PCBs) and will test on a drop of 10ft.

I was just working on moving the fans on the door I removed, and I'm also waiting for my 2nd graphics card, liquid cooling, and fan controller to come in so it will become more of a mess before it can be cleaned up. I was planning on doing a before and after pics... It will probably all be done at around Christmas...

So I just designed the emblem that I will try and etch into the plexiglass when I get home... Tell me what u think... I'm going to clean it up in study hall so this is just a rough draft.
OK so I have a major update/ semi tutorial... I just finished the first plexiglass window! It took me around 4-5 hours in total to make it absolutely perfect... Here are the pictures:

the image that I created on the ipad using procreate ( best drawing app in my opinion [yes i drew it freehand]) which took about 30 minutes...

ok so I printed out the emblem on a regular sheet of paper and taped it to the back of the plexi so I could see it through the plexi...mi used a Dremel with spherical cutting/ carving pieces (I bought it at lowes for 20$)... IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU USE THE DREMEL ON MEDIUM/LOW SPEED as it will melt the plastic and screw up both your Drexel head and the etching

cutting time! I used a jigsaw with medium/small blades... I started out using small but it would cut through and melt the plastic which would then glue itself back together again instantly. I switched to a bigger blade and it worked like a charm...

yay it's done! After cutting and 30 minutes of filing and cleaning its finally done!

oh the sexiness is overwhelming haha! Please note that the thermal take will be replaced with a rasa 750 rs360 liquid cooling unit so it will look nice... I also cut out the second plexi square to go under the first one but still have to cut the corners and clean it and will do it tomorrow... So tell me what you guys think haha!

That is pretty awesome dude. But aren't you concerned about airflow? I wouldn't ever block one of the sidepanel "windows".

that's the beautiful thing about this case. I'm putting one of the side fans in the back of the case facing out and the other on one of the smaller side doors blowing in... The entire case is mesh so airflow is that big of a worry, especially since I'm putting liquid cooling on...
yes the case may be all mesh so it isn't as big of an issue as an enclosed case..but good airflow is still necessary. also good cable management will make your rig shine 100 times more. plus don't put it off. i see you're saying you will take care of it when the water cooling gear comes in, but if you were to take care of it now it would be less of a hassle when you have to add all of those extra into your case.

unless you're STT and have 500 case fans that hide all of his bad wiring tongue.gif having that plexi window+good cable management would look awesome.
