Wow...fast reply!

Yeah I took those pictures after I took it out and turned it upside down just testing my own sanity. The gaps are the exactly the same with it upside down or right side up. You are of course correct that the 5.25 rails only have a single row of holes, some cases provide two but most devices do too (see the BR drive), but with these two units there's no flexibility at all.

The second post is with pictures that were taken before the first. In those shots the res is just sort of hanging there (tacked in for mockup), I spent hours just trying to decide where to put stuff, this is an amazing case but dangerous to an OCD tinkerer. You'll notice I still have that gap in the second post, see it there below the front fan on the top?

I PM'd you. I have several ninja edits in my last post that should address both of your posts with my ideas. I think we will find a solution. It is a mid-tower case that requires a lot of creativity. We all know this case pretty well, so we will figure something suitable out.

The side mount also uses less tubing and does not have any 180 degree shifts in your tubing that could cause kinks.

EDIT: Wait a second, you may be able to make them all fit on the front if you put the optical drive over or under the pump/res.

Before I say anything else, THANKS for the help!

Ummm, why not? There are two fan bays, the tool box, and three "spacers" each of which is the size of an optical drive. Each of those spacers should be the three slots I need; one optical and the dual-bay res.

I was thinking of doing that, although I was going to use industrial velcro, that stuff is strong and it should help negate any vibrations or buzzing noises from the res having an internal pump. Maybe I'll wire it in for security andthen add velcro to muffle any noise.

I'll spend some time looking into option #4 this evening. I was thinking I would not like a side mounted res and optical drives. The side panel would hide the pretty res and I'd have to swing the door open to use the drive. I'll also read that link, thanks again!

I had to clean up my post again because I realized I was WRONG! You can front mount everything. You just have to put the optical drive over or under your res/pump because of where they drilled the fan bay holes.

So try this, fan bay at the very top, another fan bay, pump/res, optical drive, and then the tool chest. Or, just leave it the way you have it and use the velcro.

I sort of have that now, with the toolbox removed and the 1U used by it converted to a gap above and below the res.

I'll snap another pic when I get home, but right now I have things in this order...
--TOP--
fan bay
optical drive
fan bay
gap
reservior
gap
--BOTTOM--
toolbox removed

I don't mind running without the toolbox, but the gaps sort of bug me. I was thinking how cool it was to have the toolbox, many times I could have used handy access to a screwdriver but to need a screwdriver to open the thing sort of defeats the purpose.

That was my first choice, with all the open space in there if I choose to mount the rad on top of the case I figured those two 120s should mount to the top and help cool the RAM and chipset, I am also air cooled for now on the video card, I'll get blocks for that whenever I get the 2nd video card, not really a need ATM.

This picture was taken with the same order you suggested except the optical is on top of the res, but with everything fitting the way it shoud (from the front) I get the mounting holes not lining up. I thought the res on the bottom made the most sense, should a leak develop there the only thing screwed by gravity would be my SSDs.

Crap, this case is effed up! So puzzling! Get that velcro warmed up

Wait, what if you put the tool chest under the fan bay, then the CD rom, and then the res?

I see you modifying your post still.... What about this idea though?

I am hoping so, I've got red UV tubing, blue tubing coils, red coolant, red LED strips, two UV CCs, and the cable wraps are red as well. I prefer blue to red overall but the blue case, blue motherboard, and the blue fans need some contrast somewhere, and the PSU has a lot of red on it so...

Speaking of PSU... I always had them at the top in a more traditional arrangement, so mounting a PSU on the bottom causes the writing to be upside down. I was going to reverse it (writing would be right side up) and more of the red would show, but then the fan would exhaust into the case. Do you think it matters much which way I go? I've already mounted it upside down simply because the cables exit the PSU to one side and cable-management is going to be a nightmare already, I figured the closer to the back the better.

I'm really kind of disappointed that my new PSU is not the modular type, that would save me a gigantic wad of wiring. Strange that a combo package from NewEgg would have some much high-end gear and then a PSU with hard-mounted cabling.

Also, I read elsewhere in this thread about the Lian Li cases, that is what I am replacing with the LB. There was a time when I said publicly that the Lian Li case was the best money I ever spent on computers. I'd say I'll miss it but my son will have it on his desk should I get too sentimental

Last spam for today...was looking around for options and found this video of a guy with the same radiator on a lanboy.

I guess that would be option #5 for rad mounting, I'm a bit leery of cutting two holes in the plexi though, I've worked with the stuff before and cutting it can be tricky, I ended up using a router instead of a "blade". Maybe I could just lop off an inch or so and have a square hole opening for the hoses to route through. I'm really starting to lean towards this approach...no heat introduced to the interior...nothing hanging off the front/back/sides...no hoses running out and around the back. A win win win?

Anyway, if you look closely at around 3:14 into the video you'll see that he didn't screw it his res at all, BECAUSE THE HOLES DO NOT LINE UP! I think it is just sitting there on top of his optical drive, maybe with some double-sided tape to prevent movement and vibrations.
