Pentium 4 compatibility with GDDR5

This might be a stupid question but I was wondering if Pentium 4's are compatible with GDDR5 GPU's a Radeon HD6870 in particular no real reason I was just thinking about it and i wanted to know thxs

The memory type of the GPU doesn't matter. If the Pentium 4's motherboard has a PCI-Express x16 slot it will work.

Yep. As long as the motherboard has a PCI-E Slot, the Memory the GPU uses is not relevant.

You could put a 590 in it, although it'd be a waste.

It will work as long as there is a PCI-E slot, but a P4 will be a bottleneck for a 6870. You should look into OCing it as far as you can.
