Sapphire 5970 crossfire & 3D Support

This has probably been posted before but I can't seem to find any solid answeres. I want to know if it is possible to disable one of the cores on the card, ie no crossfire. I have heard that if you disable cat AI it will disable crossfire but the only options I have are performance, quality, high quality and enable surface format optimization. I have catalyst 11.5 if that helps.

Also got another question about 3D. I have a benq XL2410T monitor which is a 120hz nvidia 3D monitor, Iwant to know if there is any way to get 3D working with my amd card.

Thanks in advanced!

Just go onto the crossfire section within CCC and uncheck enable crossfire.

There is no option for that... the 5970 has a different type of crossfire, its a single card with 2 cores.
