Yesterday I installed a 2500K and an Asus P8Z68 V motherboard. I want to OC this. The new chip, bios, and everything is kinda confusing to me. I read the guide to OCing a p67. But it seemed directed to a Gigabyte board. Any help would be appreciated. I would like to get at least 4.0Ghz or higher if possible with my setup. I do have "some" ocing experienced, successfully oc'd a Q6600 on 2 different motherboards.

for 4.0 all you need to do is raise the multiplier and you can probably leave vcore on auto

Where exactly is the ratio at in the bios? I changed what I thought was the ratio it said Target speed 4.0Ghz, but when I saved it booted up at 3.3 still. It didn't reset the Bios either.

Ok. I got it stable at 4.8GHz in IBT on standard, but the temps peaked at 81c for a second during the test. Can I keep it or should I lower it? The temps were staying around 60c-70c in Prime95 Blend.

I'd reseat your TRUE if you're getting 81c at 3.8Ghz. While IBT makes SB CPUs angrier than any other synthetic out there, that sounds really high.
