That PSU can easily handle two GTX 480's + overclocks.

The TPQ-850 has a bit of a low +12V current rating for an 850W, so I usually consider it a 750W. It's a little on the skimpy side for SLI GTX480s. It's a quality unit, so when stressed too much it should just shut down gracefully. That's when you know you need a new PSU.

oh right I guess It would be best to try it out and if i doesn't work then masybe inveting on a higher wattage will be better. I was just wondering whats your take on the TPQ850 on a pair of 580s overclocked?

Thanks

Would run it fine imo but shame you cant overclock.

XFX 850w Core Edition is what im using currently and plan to futurely upgrade to 480 sli. He actualy uses 480 sli in his real life test set up aswell.

Take my overclock for example, I got my 480 @ 840/2000 on stock volts fully stable compared to to stock freq. of 700/1886. Even though my overclock didnt require extra volts would it still pull more power?
