The Cooler Master Storm Enforcer Club - Page 105

Thank you, I appreciate it! This is my first build, so far it's been running great. Eventually I plan on doing more with it, for starters swapping the CPU cooler, but for now I will keep it as is. I'm also definitely going to need another SSD, it's already almost full of games and programs lol.

Get another and run them in Raid 0 like me, it's super fast

That's what I originally thought, but it's actually not that bad if you use Launchy.

I use launchy in 7, and I tried 8. I don't like anything about it. I would disable everything that essentially would turn it back into windows 7. So...what would be the point of upgrading anything? Why not save the money and put in a new ssd or something? Exactly.

I guess that's one way to put it. It does have other benefits though, it just depends on how you use it. Win8 has built in support for PDF, ISO, etc., and newer software are generally more secure. The removal of aero also seems to have a large impact on gaming.

I've never had any issues getting at LEAST 40 fps in everything from bf3 to skyrim. That's on a single 470. I have software to deal with iso and pdf's, and I have next to no reason to worry about things being secure. With plenty of AV software and the fact that I don't look at porn, I have never had a virus or any security problem. The general consensus, is that windows 8 is a huge flop of the desktop OS market. No doubt it's great for those who enjoy things like tablets, but it's just that, a tablet OS marketed to desktopers.
