Nice to see the thread is active again.

When I joined in it was really quiet. LoL

Nice to see everyones build too.

Btw, has anyone done any acrylic bending/curving?

Been thinking of making a cover for my PSU and HDD, to make it look more neater. Also some extra lighting too depends on how hard it is to put a LED in between a while(or Red acrylic) and a clear one.

I made a PSU cover myself and am very happy with it. I just used a piece of 12" x 24" sheet metal bent at 90° then spray painted it. Never thought about acrylic and lighting. I'd be very intetested to see how that turned out.

Several members of the Trooper/Stryker club did it, so if you want you can go through it and find someone who did. There's a link to the club in my sig.

Hey Guys,

I'm working on a mod for my enforcer with an IRONMAN theme for my enforcer. basically to look like the chest and torso of the Mark 42 suit

A photoshop mockup of the work to be done

Gonna attempt to scuplt the chest piece over the bay cover or if that doesnt work, get a vinyl print and stick it over the front cover.

Additionally, i wanna do a "working" arc reactor built into it, which may mean cutting a hole in the cover

something like this:

The arc i'm gonna make uses led lights, what i wanted to know is, can i use an old fan connector cable and connect it to a fan connector on my motherboard to power the leds??

would that work?

Thanks

Will keep u guys updated on the build

I would most definitely talk to someone with electrical background before attempting to splice fan/lighting power sources....maybe I'm over thinking it but I would be hesitant to have mismatching voltages or some such madness inside my case. It makes me think of shorting out components. Looking at the plan you have to mod your case, which even though I'm not a big Iron Man fan I think is an amazing idea!, I wouldn't want something spoiling it like that.

Edit: Maybe PM Kadosh (Enforcer Club Member). He did a post about LED replacement work not too long ago

Yah you've gotta be cautious about messing with electrical stuff and then just plugging into your mobo. Might want to look into getting some prebuilt/premade led setups to make what you want and just hook that into a molex. You could maybe even wire it into your HDD led so it flashes when your hard drive is used. I had something like that setup on my last case and it wasn't too difficult. Neat idea though, just take the proper precautions as always.

Thanks Guys, its my first major mod so I'm really cautious, especially with the electrical stuff, since i paid almost $1000TTD for the case and more so for the parts inside, stuff a little expensive importing into Trinidad from the US

I like Eviljubs idea of idea of connecting the arc to the HD LEDs, could you pm me with a little more info on how you did this. thanks thumb.gif

i will say though that Modest Mouse and all the other modders here got me really interested in trying something with my case. Props to all of you biggrin.gif

Thanks Ramki! It's nice knowing the work we put into our rigs is acknowledged and inspires others to try something different with their own.
