Strange Computer Behaviour During Gaming. - Page 3

I was going to leap on your SSD but it appears you have ruled that out. My next guess would be C-States and Power saving features, throttling with slow recovery. (A unproven pet theory of mine.)

But a little checking points also to your unlocked 6950. Here are just some similar quotes from different folks.

"I've recently bought a 6950 and unlocked the extra shaders while keeping ... It benchmarks brilliantly but I'm getting bad stutter in games. ..."

"I have a 2500k, ASRock Extreme4, C300 128gb, 6950 w/unlocked shaders as well. I have read that this stuttering is an issue that many only ..."

"When it's like that, all the game is stuttering as well. .... I run an 1100T @ 3850Mhz & a single 6950 (unlocked shaders @ 925/1400Mhz) and ..."

"the 6950 fixed those problematic games but now I got a whole new set of stutter with different games that drop below 60..."

I would recommend experimenting with different setups in the control panel.
Increase or decrease AA, Vert Sync On/Off, textures, bufferering etc., etc,.

I have tryed alot of things with the graphics card. overclocked and stock, shaders unlocked and locked.

Tryed different settings in CCC alot to.

Also tryed 11.4 and 11.5b drivers.

Dont forget though, this PC never had problems before, i have this 6950 over half a year attleast now.

i got this problem only for like a week now.

Raised Vcore and IMC in the hope that might help fix it....

i doubt it would be the CPU, id have thought the freezing would be a graphics issue. i just recreated the effect by increasing my graphics cards memory speed. as a rule when overclocking this would be a sign of unstable memory either in the graphics or ram, maybe try increasing your ram voltage, could even be the timings or your IMC on your i7 struggling. most i7's struggle to run memory over 1800mhz without really high VTT, and the ones that can run over 1800mhz ram then the IMC could degrade as a result. so it could even be possible that your i7's IMC is getting weak. other than that maybe try going back to the 11.3 drivers, ive had a lot of issues with the 11.4 and 11.5 drivers.

I was thinking of my RAM [imc] to, that or a driver problem.

i have tested it with memtest and dont get any errors though.

My ram settings are 9-9-9-27 @ 2000mhz with a IMC of 1.34V atm and 1.65v on the dimms.
i can run these dimms at higher speeds with tighter timings stable to if needed.

tryed me graphics card in a different pc and it didnt give any problems there.

Changed driver of the USB3 pci-e card and no luck either.

Bit busy with work atm but ill try changing other drivers aswell.
If that still wont make anything better ill try setting the ram at 1600mhz and see if that helps.

Thx for all help so far

i have tryed bumping cpu and imc voltage with no effect
