Odd. Is the 360 brand new? If it is, you need to connect it via the red/white/yellow cables (forgot what they were called, RCA?) and select HDMI out as your source. Then connect it to your monitor.

I have my Xbox 360 connected to my ASUS 24" Monitor and both audio and video work flawlessly.

I meant connect it to a TV using the RCA cable, and select HDMI out as your video source. Then hook it up to your monitor.

The red/white/yellow. Just go into "My Xbox" and select "Video Settings", and then select HDMI out as your source.
