Intel btx mobo heatsink hole spacing

Thread Starter
i ordered a btx mobo instead of an ATX one because it was cheaper than the ATX one. so while im waiting for it ive been trying to find the dimensions of the CPU heatsink mounting holes(how far apart are they, from each other and the board edges). so that i can have the heatsink all ready when it gets here.

i have been unable to find this information i have literally searched for hours!

see the pic attached. pretty self explanatory. i would like the distances of the red, blue, green lines i added in. the general area is circled in black.

thanks!

edit: socket 775 btx mobo, and also, socket 775 atx is different than socket 775 btx. atx is a 72mm length and width

from the results i got from my searching, i would say it would be easier if one of you could measure it on a extra btx socket 775 mobo laying around, rather than googleing

i would assume that they would be the exact same, it depends on what socket the cpu uses.

Does your case support BTX motherboards?

Yeah what Patawic said, the hole spacings are only different as per socket types, not MB FFs.

sorry for lack of info, it is a socket 775 btx mobo, im building a custom case, all i need are the dimensions of the holes so i can fix up a heatsink for it

socket 775 atx is different than socket 775 btx. atx is a 72mm length and width

the heatsink mounting holes should be the same since they are both socket 775

775 BTX is not the same as 775 ATX, hole spacing is completely different.

Sirbow, why are you measuring? Are you going to make your own. You would be better off just buying one.

yes, BTX is alot different than ATX. Plus the mounting holes and the socket are at a aling not straight like on ATX. look here: atx-bax.jpg

Woa WTH, Never seen that before....

Is BTX for servers or something?

FINALLY someone that understands that btx 775 and atx 775 are different!!!

i have tons of heatsinks laying around, why waste them if i could use them for this?

BTX was created by intel for better cooling(and it is much better at cooling.)
