Is BTX for servers or something?

It was competing with ATX being the standard for motherboards.

i have tons of heatsinks laying around, why waste them if i could use them for this?

BTX was created by intel for better cooling(and it is much better at cooling.)
Are those heatsinks ATX or BTX form factor? If ATX, they will not fit on a BTX MB.

Sorry, I haven't touched a BTX MB for many years. I posted a link in my previous post, BTX coolers dimensions are given (H,W,L). Use that and the BTX PDF's should give you what your looking for. IMO, if you are going to micky mouse a cooler from a ATX HSF, you might as well wait till your MB arrives.

ok, thanks for all your help. If anyone else has a socket 775 BTX mobo, could you check the spacing of the heat sink holes?

its funny how BTX was supposed to take over ATX. lol, it never did, never will.
