its a great monitor.

i used to have the ve246h, before i went to acer 24"s then to my 27" dell .

and dont worry about display port. shouldve gotten an active one with the 6990.

Speaking of 27"... Should I just get a u3011 instead? It would definitely cost a lot more than the 3x 24" unless someone could find a refurb one.

If your gaming I would stick with 3 monitors that are under 24", Photoshop is really where one huge monitor comes in.

What I mean was try to stay with monitors that are comfortable for you, 24" would be fine for me but some people sit closer so they like 23". I sit about 2.5' from my U2311H and it's the perfect size for me.
