sub $800 budget build

Thread Starter
- The intent of this build is gaming, school / office work, programming and general internet.
- I prefer all parts be from newegg but willing to look around for better deals.
- I dont really intend on overclocking. Gaming @ 1920 x 1080
- Thinking big picture, I want this thing to handle Battlefield 3 and Diablo 3 (if it ever comes out). I have already have HD 6950 and Windows 7, but that's pretty much it, I need to buy everything else.

Case: Rosewill Destroyer - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811147144
MB: ASUS P8H67-M - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131713
PS: Antec Earthwatts 500 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371035
CPU: i5-2400 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115074
*Ram: G.Skill 8Gb - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231308
HDD: Seagate 500 Gb - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148701
ROM : LITE ON - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106289

Accessories
Monitor: ASUS 23" - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236117
Mouse: MX518 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104178
Keyboard: Saitek Cyborg - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823175012

Total to about $786.90 w/o shipping and taxes. If I could find some cheaper parts, that would be great.

*Also, do I really need 8 gigs of ram? Should I just go with 4 gigs?

Thank you for your help!

If you live by a Frys / Microcenter you can pick up some major deals from them. Id look into that. Such as a i5-2500k for $10 less than your 2400. Not to mention discounts on mobos and such.

You'll want a bigger case than the Rosewill destroyer for that 6950, it took some serious effort to cram my 6870 into mine, and then it made my cpu run about 10C hotter than it used to

Even with a stock CPU cooler, you could still overclock it a tad and it would be stable. I use a stock cooler, and overclock mine from 3.2GHz to 3.5GHz on occasion. On stock voltages, too.

He speaks truth, I've gotten my 965 to 3.8GHz with the stock cooler and stock voltages, and my temps were completely reasonable
