McAfee Security Center

Thread Starter
I recently got a laptop that came with 15 months of McAfee Security Center as part of the package (was an EPP thing so I couldn't opt out of it). My question to you guys is, would it be worth leaving it installed and just activate it or delete it and go for a free alternative?

It's actually not a very bad form of protection, I heard they also greatly reduced the resources it takes, since McAfee used to take a lot.

It's up to you, really.

I would say scrap it, even though its free. Something that needs a removal tool just to get rid of it is never good in my book. Personally I dont use any kind of security, but im smart with my browsing. No crazy porn or "omGz itz frEE muSiC!!!!!" sites. If you want a free AV software, MSE or Avira are my top 2. If you prefer more security and dont mind paying, Kaspersky and Webroot are good. If you want to be daring, you can always just grab MWB and do periodic scans.

Does it slow your laptop down? They make very good enterprise security solutions. But if your pc runs fine and it doesn't feel sluggish etc etc then use it. You got it free anyways so you got nothing to loose to test it out
