bumpity bumpity bump.... the Bulldozer went up the rump...

I'm back to looking at SNB 1155 motherboards!

So, out of Asrock and MSI, which would you guys recommend?!?

I guess the $150-ish boards look ok?

Does that apply to the MSI boards down the line or certain ones? I assume, from your tone, that you consider all 1155 MSI boards a risk?

I am leaning towards Asrock, though. Reading decent things about them and not just here.

But, I'm wondering if it's just certain boards or is one safe going for any of their 1155 boards?

The Z68 Pro3 looks good for the price but the Extreme3 looks not too bad either.

I don't think I can afford the Extreme4 or whatever it's called. That's getting into $200 territory and I think it might be too expensive since I'll still need to get the cpu and RAM.

I also have to decide between i5-2500 and i7-2600. The i7-2600 lets me have HT but not sure I need it, really.

I was going to use virtualization but vt-x might be enough. I don't know yet. I could get the -k processors if I don't need vt-d. Although, would be nice to have.

A budget mobo would help keep the overall cost down. I was also looking at MSI because they seem to have a good forum and their boards support vt-d with the right cpu. But, Asrock 1155 boards support vt-d w/ non-k processors, too, but I was starting to lean towards Asrock anyway.

Thanks to you both for your responses following my bump!
