Do you really need more than 1GB Vram at 1920x1080?

I am probably going to get another 6870 in a couple months and crossfire it, but I heard that 1GB+1GB Vram does not stack. But for playing in 1080p, do you really need more than 1GB Vram?

If you do, I will probably sell my 6870 in a couple months and pick up a 6950 2GB or maybe save up for a GTX 570/580.

Unless you plan on having 4 screens of that resolution and want to do something entirely different on each one, I think 1GB should be plenty. I only have 512MB of VRAM and haven't needed any more than that.

Nope, just 1 screen. I plan on running things like BF3 and similar on here though, and I just want to make sure I have enough Vram.

1GB is fine at 1080p.

If you ever plan to go over that, you may need more.

As textures get bigger and you apply more Anti Aliasing or Anistropy the amount of VRAM you'll need/want will increase.

Besides extra texture mods and very high levels of AA you will be fine.
