That is certainly old. I can't remember what drivers were new back then.

I guess my final comment is that a professionally done review should have all the cards for a given company on the same drivers. This review does not -- making it very hard to determine fact from fiction or draw any kind of meaningful conclusion. It still makes my head hurt thinking about a 590 beating 580SLI, but since the 580s were on ancient drivers I guess it is possible.

Anyway, as I said in my post on page 1 ... poorly done review is poorly done.

Yea, pretty much, what a pointless comparison that is.

ALL comparisons should be done with the same drivers, sometimes common sense ain't so common.

I did see some benchmarks 590 Quad vs 6990 Quad on YouTube done by Trubritar two months ago using 267.91 vs 11.4 drivers. Did six different video reviews and results were average of 20 time run throughs. One of them is found here. More up to date with both drivers. Wasn't a surround review however, just 2560x1600 resolution.

Edited to add: I think this thread has run it's course now that we got to the bottom of it.

Not even that. No review site has ever done a proper statistical test with the numbers they've recorded. It's like having no significance in the recorded information.

I don't get it why did he didn't do Xfire? also the complaints about being to lazy to find what system and drivers he used for the 580? if you cant type 580 into you tube's search box on his channel why complain that he didn't spend an hour resetting up and re running games?

it could have been done alot better, Yes i agree but who has 2x580's and 2x590's and a few hrs to do a you tube video showing fraps?

/rant

I hope a better review comes out but for now this will have to do...

Lower core clock = faster card? I guess we should underclock cards to get more performance?

He also did not state which drivers he used for the rest of the cards. It would be foolish to use different drivers and make comparisons between different Nvidia cards.

i guess nvidia did use more pixie dust in their newer drivers to make the impossible happen ...

It's already been established that it was older drivers on the other cards with the newer drivers on the 590 no need to be condescending.
