Looking at very cheap 5.1 speakers, setup/position questions

I currently have 2 old/dirty speakers, and they have to go, so I don't mind ordering something small and cheap, just for games and movies

this for $49 all included
http://www.xpresscanada.com/index.ph...uct/SPED000116

Now about the setup, what about the 2 that in a full size system, would be on either end of the couch.

I see videos with them on a desk just bit ahead (closer to user) and further apart than the other 2 front L/R ones

I could strap them onto the front ends of the TV stand, but the would only be about 7-8" from the other 2 L/R speakers...How effective is that as a 5.1 setup

It would be much more hassle to position them on either side of where I sit on a couch

And also , I move the TV stand when I lie back for movies, so that means those speakers would have to move too

I'll probably try putting the 2 rear speakers on rope rails, and slide them as needed, best I can come up with...the cables better be long enough, not the kind of wire I want to solder
