REAL LIFE results of folding?!?!

Thread Starter
ive been asking myself this question and i couldnt find an aswer..

WHERE IS THE RESULTS OF ALL THE WORK OF HOURS AND HOURS OF FOLDING AROUND THE WORLD?!?!

Anything new/discovered/fixed?!?!

Any kind of a breaktrought advance in ANYTHING?!?!

have you answered yourself that question?!?!

You leave your PC on, you have crazy hardware invested, you see the numbers (lets face it, almost everyone here folding@home is just a e-peen benchmark) and you never make yourself that question?!?!?

i want to see proof/results fo all the work done untill the moment..

no offense and no trolling please.. just a straight answer thank you

I know nothing about folding@home, but I imagine that these things take time.

It completes algorithims it would take the worlds largest supercomputers weeks to complete.

It is based on modeling proteins for scientific research for developing cures for cancer, ect.

We just make the scientists research quick to solve so they can make cures and develop more much faster than it would take for them to do all the computing on their own

I don't really see the problem. A benchmark/competition that puts the actual results to use for research. Kinda gets two birds stoned at once.

Thanks for the links man..

actually yes, the results are on the website, but a little "hidden" thats all..

my question was all the effort that you put in folding, building machines, etc and whatnot and the most important thing (TO ME AT LEAST) the results are not even showed the way someone make a thread about hes "my new folding rig" in fact i never seen a thread about "hey, we just found/discovered X that helps to do Y about this disease"

wich its the WHOLE point of folding, isnt it?!?!

i dont know if i was clear..

yes.. my point was; does anyone cares about the results?? why someone doesnt open a thread about "hey guys, we helped resolve this problem!! "

but nevermind.. i guess people is more interested in benchmark/numbers.. thats all (im not bashing BTW)

I don't see how anyone can say that; it's linked twice on their homepage.

1) In the link tab, under "Results".
2) In the middle of the page, under "What have we done so far?".

For those who can't find that, they post a thread, and someone answers them right away.

and yes, is thr any cured found? As in the website they show only few things i dont even understand it.
Another question, if fold is like doing a small part of experiment
in each client then combined to be a big 1, wont the experiment fail? like something dont work this way.
