Dell & HP pixel policy, am I getting this right?

So I'm in the market for a monitor. Either a Dell Ultrasharp or HP ZR series....So I'm reading the policy for bad pixels on both Dell & HP. And heres what I find...correct me if I am wrong

Dell Ultrasharps = Bright pixels equals immediate exchange under 3 year warranty. However black pixels (aka dead pixel) is not covered.

HP ZR series = two bright pixels equals exchange under 3 year warranty. up to five bright OR dead pixels will equal and exchange.

Now my question is, why isn't black/dead pixels covered for Dell? I mean if I just bought one of their monitors, and it has a DEAD pixel, not bright, does that mean it's not covered? Because thats what it appears to say in their policy

With the HP ZR monitors....what if I bought a brand new monitor, and I have two dead/black pixel? It's considered normal and won't be exchanged? Because their policy states you have to have FIVE total dead/black pixels, or 5 combined bright/dead pixels to qualify for exchange

To me that doesn't seem right...but correct me if I am wrong

If you think these are bad, you should take a look at Apple's dead pixel policy.

However, if that's what it states on Dell's site, that's what it is. You can try calling them and verifying though to be sure it's accurate.

However, you may be able to reference one thing (it's a really old article on dell's site)

Apparently, 6 or more dead/dark pixels and they'll give you a replacement. However, if the dead pixel is in the center, you might get them to replace it or there's 2 right beside one another.

damn thats crazy...I mean I just can't grasp the idea that...a brand new monitor, and a few "dead" pixels, not bright, is considered normal....and you are paying a premium for the Dell U series too...but it only covers "bright" pixels...which I find funny because a dead pixel is just as bad...
