Red Faction is CPU intensive, this is my point. In CPU intensive games, his Phenom I WILL reduce his minimum, average and/or max framerate. Whether or not you call this a bottleneck is your problem, but his performance will definitely suffer, which is what this is all about
My definition of a bottleneck is, that it occurs when any piece of hardware is slower than another piece, whether it be RAM, CPU or GPU. The bottleneck occurs at the slowest piece of hardware, and the idea is to get hardware that's closely matched in performance to reduce the size of the bottleneck.Edited by Goaky - 6/11/11 at 3:03pm
