Selling iPhone - What phone now?

Thread Starter
I've decided to sell my iPhone 4, as I no longer like being tied to a single application to manage my device, and as a sometimes Linux user, it's just more trouble than it's worth.

Anyway, I'm considering the LG Optimus 2X, which costs around the same as what I plan on selling the iPhone for. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? I'll probably only consider Android phones, as I used to have an HTC Hero, and I miss the customization aspects of Android, and being able to do whatever you wish with the platform.

Thanks,

~SK

Sim free? I didn't think Europe used CDMA. Or do you mean carrier unlocked?

My vote goes to the Galaxy S II. Pricey, but insanely worth it for the screen.

The 2X is nice as well, with it's 4" IPS screen.

You might want to look into an HTC Desire HD. The lack of dual core isn't going to hurt day to day use, and you can probably get it a bit cheaper than the 2X.

Plus you get much better dev support, which is important if you're planning on rooting your rom and installing custom firmware.

Actually the Desire HD is around the same price as the 2X. SII is a little out of my budget

And I think it's called SIM Free here due to it not coming with a contract SIM.

i will throw my vote in for the samsung infuse. basically a 1.2ghz single core gsII with a bigger screen. and it also has the s-amoled+ screen.

i came from an iphone4, and i will never go back to apple. this is the best phone i have ever had, hands down. and thats after having the iphone 3g, 3gs and 4.
