Are these BSODs related to RAM? - Page 2

well those sticks are rated for 1.55V, and are supposed to be able to handle up to1.75v, so if you were to say get the frequency up and that would require more voltage, which solves the issue with u and the voltage, however i dont think that BSOD is memory related, create a dump file, and tell us the message that comes up after the system recovers from the BSOD that usually tells us a lot too. usually BSOD thats RAM related shows this one specfic message on the BSOD itself, and there are several variations, that signify unstable ram, but in your case it looks like a windows task just crashed.

also scan ur Boot HDD for disk errors, i was in windows once, and CMD.exe notepad.exe MS Paint.exe and all them regulars all became corrupted =P it was pretty cool cuz i ran CCleaner and it deleted the registry for them and the BSOD at the end was pretty weird, never seen it b4, but i did it for lolz, and wanted to see what would happen

That looks like a pretty basic how to. Should get you started but you might need to do a little more research on how to interpret them once you read the minidump.

Well my MoBo autoed the voltage to 1.65 originally for both 1333 and 1600. Like I said though my computer would restart during prime95 @ 1600 1.65v. Increasing the voltage just made my computer restart faster during prime. So I decided to start at 1.55 and go up. I'm able to do 24 hours of Prime95 @ 1.55v as well as 100 LinX tests.

ndis is a network interface driver. Check your motherboard manufacturers website for any and all updated drivers there might be and also for any network or wireless cards or devices you use.
ntfs could possibly be hard drive journaling, or drivers. Make sure your motherboard drivers are up to date for that as well.

If updating drivers fails, then move on to testing RAM and/or HDDs

WiFi card is from Linksys but I got the driver from Realtek since it's supposed to be better for it.

UM I believe Realtek also did the drivers for my mobos Ethernet stuff. Most of the drivers I updated came from the makers site not ASUS. As the maker site had more current drivers.

As for testing the HDDs and and RAM. All three of my HDDs are from WD and I've ran their tester multiple times. Nothing comes up. The only other drive I have sometimes hooked up is a seagate one that is for backup only. Seagates tester doesn't like testing on external drives I guess.

As for RAM I've tested this more then anything else. Memtest86+ and just yesterday I did 100 runs of Linx in addition to Prime95 running alongside it. That was for 9hours 50 mins.

I'd go back and get all the drivers from the motherboard manufacturer, and for the wireless card get it from the wireless card manufacturer. They are tested and known to work with your setup which is why that is the driver set listed for your equipment. Try that and report back

I just decided to reinstall Windows and get the drivers that way. I can't remember which drivers I got where and all that. Might as well just do it fresh

I also wanted to see if installing it a different way might help. Last few times I've used a USB flash drive to install it over a DVD. Maybe that might be causing a few things.

Unfortunately I did run into a possible issue.

I used my LG WH10LS30 blu ray drive to install it. During the installing it came up with an error. The files where corrupted and it couldn't continue.

So I tried it in my other DVD drive (a Sony Optiarc) and it was fine.

I used to have some issues with the LG drive but that was back when I had RAM issues and it was RAM not the drive.

But I have done test after test and retest of my RAM and it came back perfectly fine. So could I have an issue with my drive?

Are there any tests I can perform on it to see?

I'd uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the LG bluray drive, and see if it will read DVDs then.

Do you think the drivers from the Windows 7 discs just didn't cooperate with the blu ray player? I know that when you put the disc in and start it up it loads some generic drivers.
