5870 acting wierd!

It has been a few months since i bought and installed my sapphire 5870 2gb E6 card. Recently i been getting these screens in the middle of some games. It only happens on certain games like prototype, splinter cell, and once in ME2. But others games like BF2, Dirt 3, far cry 2, etc it works fine for hours. I have upgraded to the latest drivers (11.5b). Could this is a bad games/driver issue or a bad card. Thanks

Here is an example of the screen i get, it changes colors every time.

Hmmm.. Pretty

Time to wipe/reinstall
Generally something like that is a driver issues, hardware usually will have problems with all gpu intensive tasks and not just a selection of games

Looks like a driver issue.

I had issues when I went from AMD to Nvidia until I did a driver sweep on the AMD drivers. You MAY be having issues because you have both sets of drivers installed, although I know many other members run AMD/ATI card's and have a physx card, so I'm not sure.

Oh i recognize that screen oh so so well. Do you have any monitor software installed and running? i.e MSI Afterburner, Fraps, Hw Monitor , Core Temp, etc etc. If so, disable them and try playing again.

. I have been plagued with this screen since I bought my card and just recently narrowed it down to monitoring software and not the drivers. If it continues, try requesting a BIOS update from the card's manufacturer.

+rep, my 5850 worked fine but ever since I got the 5870 it has been happening more frequently. I'll contact spahhire and see what they say. Ati drivers are becoming pita lately.
